Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 19, 2026
1. Commitment to Accessibility
Russo Siciliano — Distillerie dell'Etna is committed to making its website accessible, in compliance with Legislative Decree of August 10, 2022, No. 82 (transposition of EU Directive 2019/882 — European Accessibility Act) and Law of January 9, 2004, No. 4 (“Stanca Law”).
We consider accessibility not a regulatory constraint but a value: a website must be usable by all people, including those with sensory, motor or cognitive disabilities.
2. Compliance Status
This website www.russosiciliano.it is partially compliant with the requirements set out by the AgID Guidelines on the accessibility of IT tools and with the WCAG 2.1 level AA standards of the W3C.
Full compliance has not been achieved due to certain exceptions listed in section 5 of this statement. We are working to progressively resolve these non-compliances.
3. Reference Standards
The site complies with the following accessibility standards:
- WCAG 2.1 level AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines by the W3C
- EN 301 549 v3.2.1 — European standard on ICT accessibility
- AgID Guidelines on the accessibility of IT tools (Determination 433/2022)
- EU Directive 2019/882 (EAA) and Legislative Decree 82/2022
4. Accessibility Features
The site includes the following features to support accessibility:
- Semantic HTML5 structure: correct use of headings (h1-h6), ARIA landmarks, and appropriate roles
- AA-compliant color contrast: minimum ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements can be reached with TAB and activated with ENTER/SPACE
- Visible focus: clear focus indicator on all focusable elements
- Alt text on images: text descriptions for all informative images; decorative images marked with empty alt
- Form labels: every input field has an associated label
- Dark mode: dark theme available from the button in the navbar
- Scalable text: the site supports zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality
- Descriptive links: link text understandable out of context
- Skip link: “Skip to content” link to bypass navigation
- Screen reader support: tested with NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS
- No content that flashes more than three times per second
5. Non-Compliant Content
The following areas of the site present accessibility issues that we are currently resolving:
- Some images in the product gallery: being updated with more descriptive alt text (completion expected by June 2026)
- Distillery presentation video: currently missing subtitles and text transcription (in progress)
- Downloadable PDF files (catalog, technical data sheet): some PDFs are not yet tagged for screen readers. We are progressively publishing accessible versions
- Contrast in dark mode: some secondary graphic elements in dark mode may not reach the AAA ratio. The light theme (default) is fully AA-compliant
- Checkout form: being redesigned to improve error handling and voice validation messages for screen readers
We are also assessing any disproportionate burdens that may justify exemptions pursuant to Art. 3-bis of Law 4/2004.
