DESCRIPTION

This rosolio uses in its preparation the prickly pear, a fruit that grows wild in the soils of the Mediterranean basin, but which in Sicily, among the “sciare” that is, the volcanic rocks produced by the solidification of lava flows, warmed by the island’s hot sun, find their natural habitat and acquire an unparalleled sweetness and fragrance.

These prickly pears, stripped of their prickly skins and cut into small pieces, are steeped in high-quality alcohol using a handcrafted process that preserves their aromas and scents. The brew is filtered and mixed with water and sugar until it reaches an alcohol content of 25 percent.

The liquor has a dark red color when red-fleshed fruits are used, or yellow-orange if the fruits are yellow-fleshed. It is full-bodied and has a full flavor very similar to the fruit. It is great to pair with typical Sicilian almond desserts and also with fresh cheeses. It is bottled in a distinctive blue bottle.
Serve cold.
