Drinking time:

Cocktails served before a meal as "aperitifs", a word derived from the Latin verb aperire, which means "to open"; many of them are characterized by the appetite stimulating property. Subject to certain exceptions, these drinks are characterized by the prevalence of bitter flavors.

Although these cocktails are served after dinner, they must not be confused with digestifs. Aromatic and full bodied, they can be the perfect end to any meal.

Glass type:

Served in short cocktail glasses, without ice.

Cocktails served in short thumblers or in Old Fashioned glasses, without stems, perfect for drinks with ice cubes ("on the rock").

These cocktails are characterized by the presence of fruit juices or carbonated beverages.
